What Is the Condition of Triggering a Primary/Standby Failover?

A primary/standby failover is triggered when:

  • The database process of the primary database is stopped and cannot be restarted (the memory, CPU, and data disks are fully occupied).
  • The VM where the primary database resides cannot run properly.
  • The data-vip of the primary database cannot be bound to the primary node after three attempts.
When the agent cannot connect to the database, the primary/standby failover cannot be performed.
NOTE:

If the user traffic is heavy and the number of connections is too large, the management plane cannot connect to the database. In this case, services may be interrupted during the failover.
