Resetting a Parameter Group

You can reset all of the parameters in a custom parameter group to their default settings.

  1. Log in to the management console.
  2. Click in the upper left corner and select a region and a project.
  3. Click Service List. Under Database, click Relational Database Service to go to the RDS console.
  4. Choose Parameter Group Management in the navigation pane on the left. On the Custom Groups page, locate the parameter group to be reset and click Reset in the Operation column.
  5. Click Yes.

For details on the description of parameter group statuses, see Parameter Group Statuses.

After you reset the parameter group, you need to view the status of the DB instance in the DB instance list. If the status is Pending reboot, you must reboot the DB instance for the reset to take effect. Rebooting is always required after resetting parameter groups under the following circumstances:
    • The DB instance type is primary/standby. In this case, the standby DB instance will also be changed accordingly after the reboot.
    • The reset parameter group applies to a read replica.
