What Initial Configuration Needs to Be Performed on the Server or Image File Before It Is Used to Create an Image?

Windows

  • ECS

    Ensure that the following operations have been performed on the ECS or image file before being used to create a private image:

    NOTE:
    • When registering an external image file as a private image, you are advised to perform the following operations on the ECS used to create the external image file.
    • If the Guest OS driver is installed on the ECS, the cloud platform will check the image file after you select Enable automatic configuration. If the GuestOS driver is not installed, the cloud platform will try to install the driver.
    • Configure network attributes for automatically obtaining an IP address and the DNS service address) and Remote Desktop Connection. Configuring Remote Desktop Connection is optional.
    • Install Cloudbase-Init.
    • Install the Guest OS driver.

  • BMS
    Ensure that the following operations have been performed on the BMS or image file before being used to create a private image:
    • Install the chipset driver.
    • (Optional) Install the V5 server driver.
    • (Optional) Installing the 3408 RAID controller driver.
    • Install Cloudbase-Init.
    • Install the bms-network-config software package.
    • Install the SDI card driver.
    • Configure the SID.
    • Set the Windows time zone.
    • Set the virtual memory.
    • (Optional) Configure automatic Windows update.

Linux

  • ECS

    Ensure that the following operations have been performed on the ECS or image file before being used to create a private image:

    NOTE:

    When registering an external image file as a private image, you are advised to perform the following operations on the ECS used to create the external image file.

    • Delete files in the network rule directory.
    • Configure NIC attributes.
    • Install and configure Cloud-Init.
    • Optimize the Linux private image.

  • BMS
    Ensure that the following operations have been performed on the BMS or image file before being used to create a private image:
    • Install and configure Cloud-Init.
    • Modify the hardware device driver that boots the OS.
    • Install the bms-network-config software package.
    • Install the SDI card driver.
    • (Optional) Install the IB driver, V5 server driver, and RAID controller driver.
    • (Optional) Install the UltraPath software.
    • Perform the security configuration.
    • Configure remote login.
    • Configure automatic root partition expansion.
