What Are the Impacts If an ECS That Has Not Been Configured Is Used to Create a Private Image?

If you do not configure DHCP for the NICs or delete residual udev rules, the ECS created from a private image registered from an image file has the same configuration as the image file, or the NICs of the ECS does not start from eth0. In this case, you need to manually configure the remote login function of ECS.

If a Linux image used to create an ECS is not manually configured, the following situations may occur during the ECS creation:

  • Customized passwords cannot be injected.
  • Certificated cannot be injected.
  • Other configurations may not be customized.

If you do not delete information about automatic disk attaching detection from the fstab file, the ECS created using the private image may fail to start.
