How to Access an External Docker Hub from a Node Without an EIP?

If none of nodes in a cluster is assigned an EIP, all nodes in the cluster are externally inaccessible and unable to access an external Docker Hub. You can use the following method to let nodes access an external Docker Hub:

  • Assign an EIP to a node after the node is added.

For more information on how to assign an EIP after a node is added, see Help Center > Virtual Private Cloud > User Guide > Network Components > EIP > Assigning an EIP and Binding It to an ECS.

  • Set up a source network address translation (SNAT) server that will share its EIP with cluster nodes in the VPC where the SNAT server is located.

The SNAT server can be any node in the cluster or an elastic cloud server in the VPC where the cluster is located. For more information on how to set up an SNAT server, see Help Center >Virtual Private Cloud > User Guide > Network Components > Custom Route > Configuring a SNAT Server.
