Relational Database Service (RDS) is an online relational database service based on a cloud computing platform. RDS is reliable, scalable, secure, and easy to manage. Tenants can use the service immediately after purchasing it.
RDS provides an optimized performance monitoring system, multiple security protection measures, and a professional database management platform. Users can easily configure, operate, and expand the relational database. On the RDS console, you can execute all necessary tasks without programming, simplifying O&M process, and reducing routine O&M workload. Therefore, engineers can focus on application development and service development.
Users need to access RDS instances through ECSs. The following figure shows the process for a user to access an RDS instance.
Currently, tenants are allowed to access the RDS service from the ECSs in the same Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) over the internal network. RDS is expected to be accessed from external networks in the future.
The RDS API service provided by Open Telekom Cloud enables enterprise users to use the RDS service by connecting tools to this service, improving O&M and deployment efficiency of container applications.
The RDS service provides unified APIs for external users through API Gateway, and users can call the APIs through API Gateway. All APIs comply with the RESTful API specifications and are accessed using Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS).
RDSConsole uses the RESTful API to call the background instance management function. This API is also registered with the public cloud API Gateway so that users can implement secondary development for instance management. The RDS service treats the same for service requests from RDSConsole and OpenAPI Gateway.
